CALGARY --
Here's a success story for the myfreeimplants.com website
Thanks to the generosity of strangers, Candace Leadley's world is about to get a little bigger.
Well, certain anatomical anyway. Her boobs
The 26-year-old single mother is scheduled for breast augmentation on April 10 -- when she will go from a 29A to a 36C cup -- after becoming the first Canadian "Hall of Famer" on the website myfreeimplants.com, where men donate money to women looking to expand their busts.
Since joining the site in October 2006, Leadley chatted with men around the world and posted photos of herself online to raise the $9,000 or so needed for surgery.
Boyfriend
"One day I was bored and searching around on the Internet for information on breast augmentation and tripped across the site," she said.
"I thought about if for a couple of weeks, then just jumped in and decided to try it."
Donations ranged from $10 to $250, she said, and came from men around the world.
Leadley, who's in a relationship, said her boyfriend was supportive of her using the site to fund the operation.
"He thinks the site is kinda weird, but he encouraged me, and he's really excited for me about the implants," she said.
As for why she wants a bigger bust, Leadley said she's hoping it will boost her self-esteem.
"I had larger breasts before I had (my son) then they just kind of went away and I'd like to have some again," she said.
"I want to be able to feel like a woman, not a woman in a little girl's body.
"I'm almost 30 and people tell me I look like I'm 12 to 15 years old, so this will be a boost of self-esteem."
Even though she raised the money, Leadley won't actually see any of it herself. Instead, the money is held in an account for the women by the site's operators, then transferred to the surgeon performing the operation.About the Author
